SRM is delivered with the option for the buyer to create various purchasing documents like RFQs, Contracts as well as Purchase Orders from within the sourcing cockpit. By clicking the dropdown button in the tool bar, a list of follow-on documents are provided. The buyer can then choose from this list to create the specific follow-on document he needs to process. My last two clients, like most likely many other businesses as well, had the requirement to have these options restricted. They wanted certain purchasers only process certain follow-on documents: Buyer group A could only create purchase orders while buyer group B was responsible for the creation of contracts.
To configure this restriction and to fulfill this requirement in the system, you need to go to transaction SM30 and ented SM30 and enter /sapsrm/v_soco. There, choose the document types you do not want to be used and deselect them. Once you made your choice, save it.
