A survey conducted by ARC Advisory Group asked 52 logistics executives if they were taking into account cost per unit measurements in their warehouses. The survey found that 37% were not using this type of metrics. This develops into a too small budget plan and often considerably exceeds the managers’ projected ending budgets.
Applying cost per unit measurements appropriate for each portion of the warehouse ensures the productivity benefits of an implemented Warehouse Management System (WMS) while allowing the system to find areas for improvement.
