A study found that internet shoppers from the United States were much more likely than any other country to choose price of their items as the most important factor in their purchase. According to an online survey of 5,300 e-shoppers, the worldwide average ranking of price being the most important factor is 61%. This is 14% less than the average U.S. shopper’s ranking of 75%.
Other countries included in the survey conducted by the Japan-based online marketplace operator, Rakuten, Inc., are United Kingdom, Germany, Austria, France, Spain, Brazil, Taiwan, Japan, Indonesia, Thailand and Malaysia. The results compared the rankings of these 12 countries on the reasons why they choose to buy at specific online retailers. The answers are somewhat surprising and little bit humorous.
