After previous attempts to create national standards to track and trace drugs were dodged, Congress has now agreed to pass legislation that would that gives the FDA more ability in regulating the companies that compound sterile drugs and ships them across state lines. It will also cover a national set of standards to track pharmaceuticals through the supply chain to help prevent fraudulent medication from being introduced into the drug supply.
