As of November 2013, United States government agencies are working to establish a wide-ranging track and trace system to aid in supervising pharmaceuticals throughout the drugs’ production and distribution. A majority of these proposals are set to become law in 2017 and each organization in every part of the pharmaceutical supply chain will be required to implement technology that tracks and traces all these drugs.
